The Tower Grove Pride Festival is “a community-powered independent” celebration of the St. Louis region’s LGBTQIA+ communities identities, experiences, and resilience. First organized in 2014 as an alternative to the mainstream St. Louis Pride, it has offered the region an opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of the people who comprise it.
In fall of 2024, UMSL’s Museums, Heritage, and Public History program partnered with the festival and collected micro-oral histories from visitors, the results of which are gathered here. Students in HIST 6001, Introduction to Public History, created an exhibit with those memories. We hope you enjoy them!
