This digital exhibit is a collaborative project partnership between the University of Missouri–St. Louis , the National Building Arts Center , and the Great Rivers Greenway . Bringing together student 3D renderings of artifacts and built environments, academic research, and the extensive collections of architectural artifacts from demolished buildings along the St. Louis Brickline Greenway, the project explores the complex history that defined demolition, planning, and urban transformation in St. Louis.
3D Rendings
Oftentimes, when the built environment changes, architectural artifacts are destroyed or ignored in the process. The goal of this exhibit is to increase the viewer experience with immersive and interactive 3D models of artifacts and maps. Within the exhibit, there are two different methods of 3D renderings.
One version looks at artifacts from the National Building Arts Center and performs 3D photogrammetry to create digital models of artifacts that can be digitally examined and interacted with. The other version of the exhibit contains deep maps that allow the user to explore the built environment that no longer exists.
